A meeting of left parties CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML) & SUCI held at CPI(M) state office today strongly condemned the sharply deteriorating law & order in the state following the heinous incident of gang rape of five women in Khunti District.
The miscreants should be immediately arrested and stern legal action should be initiated against them.
But at the same time, the "Pathalgarhi" movement of the tribals in the district has definite socio-economic & polititical grievances of the tribal community which the state government has failed to address. Instead the government is hell bent on using force against the aggrieved activists.
The left parties have demanded a Judicial Committee be set up presided by a sitting Justice of High Court to look into the matter and a delegation would meet the governor to place the demand.
