The Barkagaon Police firing incident resulted in the death of four Mahtab Alam (29 years) and three students Ranjan Kumar (16 years), AbhishekRoy (18 years) and Pawan Shaw(18 years) and leaving 50 others injured including grievously injured Vikash Kumar Mahato and Nezam Mianis indicative of the barbaric designs of the BJP-led government in Jharkhand and its intentions of serving the interests of the corporates at the cost of the toiling masses of the state.

 October 7 2016: वाम और सेक्युलर विपक्षी पार्टियों के पूर्व घोषित कार्यक्रम के तहत आज 9 राजनैतिक दलों की ओर से आज राजभवन मार्च आयोजित कर राज्यपाल को पांच सूत्री ज्ञापन सौंपा गया| ज्ञापन में बड़कागाँव और गोला पुलिस गोलीकांड की जाँच उच्च न्यायलय के पीठासीन न्यायाधीश की अध्यक्षता वाले एक एक न्यायिक आयोग से जाँच कराने, मृतकों के परिवारों को 25-25 लाख मुवावजा प्रति परिवार दिए जाने और परिवार के एक सदस्य को नौकरी देने, जाँच शुरू होने से पहले वहां के सभी पुलिस और प्रशासनिक अधिकारीयों को लंबित करने, ग्रामीणों पर दायर झूठे मुकदम्मे अविलम्ब वापस लेने और ज़मीन अधिग्रहण और विस्थापन के सवाल पर चर्चा के लिए अविलम्ब एक सर्वदलीय बैठक बुलाय जाने की मांगे शामिल है|

इस मार्च में सीपीआई(एम्) के गोपिकांत बक्शी, प्रकाश विप्लव, सुफल महतो, सीपीआई के भुनेस्वर मेहता, सीपीआई (एम् एल) के जनार्दन प्रसाद, SUCI के रोबिन प्रजापति तथा RJD, कांग्रेस, समाजवादी पार्टी, जद(यु) व झारखण्ड विकास मोर्चा के नेतागण उपस्थित थे|

आगामी 17 अक्टूबर को बड़कागाँव में एक संकल्प सभा और 24 अक्टूबर को झारखण्ड बंध का आह्वान किया गया है|
